Biography

Thomas Müller had his best performances in the team competition of the Nordic Combined. Together with Hans-Peter Pohl and Hermann Weinbuch he won the gold medal at the 1988 Calgary Olympics with Pohl and Hubert Schwarz, and those three also won the 1985 and 1987 World Championships. Individually, he placed fifth in 1984 and 25th in 1988.

When he did not qualify for the 1992 Winter Olympics Müller retired. He later became ski coach at the Oberstdorf Sports School, where he became senior coach of the Nordic Combined section in 2005. In 2009 Müller was elected “Coach of the Year” for Nordic Combined of the Deutscher Skiverband (DSV).
