Xóchitl Escobedo

Xóchitl Escobedo was a Mexican professional tennis player. Escobedo achieved a career-best singles ranking of 284 in the world in November 1989, and a doubles ranking of 198 in the world in November 1992.

Escobedo won her first ITF doubles title in June 1988 in Key Biscayne, Florida, paired with Lucila Becerra. Escobedo won 15 ITF doubles titles during her career with Becerra partnering her in 12 of those victories. She also won three ITF singles titles, one in 1991, and two more in 1993. Escobedo competed in the singles and doubles at the 1988 Seoul Olympics but did not advance past the first round in either. She won a gold and silver medal at the 1993 Central American and Caribbean Games, and a bronze medal at the 1995 Pan American Games.

Escobedo was married to Mexican sprinter Eduardo Nava. Two of her sons, Ernesto Escobedo and Emilio Nava, both played professional tennis.
