Biography

Stanislav Sventek was a defenseman who played most of his Czechoslovakian career with HC Škoda Plzeň, staying with that team from 1954-69. He had one season prior to that with RH Brno, and after leaving Plzeň, Sventek played three seasons with VEU Feldkirch in the Austrian league, retiring after the 1971-72 season. Sventek skated for Czechoslovakia at the 1964 Winter Olympics, winning a bronze medal. He competed at four World Championships – 1957-58, 1961, 1963 – winning a silver medal in 1961 and bronze medals in 1957 and 1963.
