Biography

Long distance speed skater Markus Tröger participated in the 1992 Albertville Winter Olympics, finishing 13th over 1,500, and 15th in both the 5,000 and 10,000 metres. The winner of three national titles, he later turned to coaching and became chief national coach from 2006-08. Tröger then became sports director with the German Curling Association.

Personal Bests: 500 – 38.85 (1992); 1000 – 1:16.78 (1992); 1500 – 1:54.48 (1992); 5000 – 6:48.41 (1994); 10000 – 14:09.51 (1994).
