Biography

West German flatwater canoeist Niels Ellwanger partnered Carsten Lömker at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in the K-2 1,000. They finished fourth and that same year won the national title. Ellwanger later became CEO of an energy consulting company. He also took over as club manager of the handball club TUSEM Essen and later as CEO, after TUSEM became insolvent. In addition, he became vice-president of his home canoe club KG Essen
