Description

Lesotho formed a National Olympic Committee (NOC) in 1971, which was recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 1 February 1972 at the IOC session in Sapporo. Lesotho made its Olympic début that year, and has since competed at every Olympic Games except for those of 1976 when it joined the African boycott.

Lesotho has never competed at the Olympic Winter Games and has never won an Olympic medal. Its best performance came in Sydney 2000, when Likeleli Alinah Thamae finished seventh in the women’s flyweight taekwondo event.
