Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (VIN)

Saint Vincent and the Grenadines formed its National Olympic Committee in 1982 which was recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) on 17 May 1987 at the IOC Session in Istanbul. The Caribbean state first competed at Seoul 1988, when it was represented by six track & field athletes – five male and one female. Besides track & field athletics, the NOC has also competed in one other sport: swimming.The nation has competed at all subsequent Games of the Olympiad, but has not yet competed at the Olympic Winter Games.

The nation has not yet won any Olympic medals. In 1996, Eswort Coombs made it to the semi-finals of the men’s 400 metres, the best Olympic result to date by a Vincentian Olympian.
