Snowboarding at the 2002 Winter Olympics

The 2002 snowboarding events were conducted at the Park City Mountain Resort. The program was similar to 1998 with a slight difference. Both men and women again competed in a halfpipe event, but the format was slightly different. There were two runs in both qualifying and final, but only the best run of the two counted for the final result. The time trial giant slalom was replaced by the parallel giant slalom with skiers competing against each other in a single-elimination match race format, after a qualifying round. Both events have been contested at the World Championships.
