Biography

Nikolay Chebotko was a four-time Olympian for Kazakhstan, competing in 13 cross-country skiing events in 2002, 2006, 2010, and 2014. He never won a medal but earned three diplomas in the team sprint, finishing sixth in 2006, fifth in 2010, and eighth in 2014.

Chebotko was more successful at other internationals. He was a bronze medalist in team sprint at the 2013 World Championships. At the Asian Winter Games he brought home nine medals from 2003-17, with three gold medals in the 2007 relay and the 2011 team sprint and relay. He also added six medals at the Winter Universiade, with four golds in the 2003 sprint, the 2005 relay, and the 2007 sprint and relay. Sadly, Chebotko died young in a car accident.
