Biography

Bernardo Mota was a Portuguese tennis player who played professionally from 1991 to 2005. Mota achieved a career-best singles ranking of #194 in the world in March 1997, and a doubles ranking of #96 in the world in April 1997. He was part of Portugal’s Davis Cup team from 1991 to 2004.

Mota only had one ATP victory during his career when he won the doubles title at the 1996 Oporto Open in Portugal with his partner Emanuel Couto. Mota competed in the doubles at three successive Olympic Games; 1992 Barcelona, 1996 Atlanta, and 2000 Sydney, twice partnered with Couto and once with Nuno Marques.
