Biography

West German gymnast Theo Wied, twin brother of Erich Wied, participated at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. He finished fourth in the all-around team event and finished 26th in the all-around individual competition. At Melbourne four years later he finished fifth with the team and 25th in the individual all-around. He narrowly failed to win a medal at both Olympics, placing fifth and fourth in the horse vault respectively. Theo was the German all-around champion in 1948.
