Biography

Edward Benedicks was the son of factory owner Gustaf Benedicks, born in the French town of Menton at the Côte d’Azur. Edward was trained as an engineer, but mainly worked as a businessman. From 1913-25 he was a member of the Swedish Olympic Committee. At Antwerpen in 1920 and at Paris in 1924, he led the Swedish shooting team. His first Olympic appearance was in trap shooting in 1908. In 1912 he won a silver medal in individual running deer, double shot and eight years later, at Antwerpen, in the team event.
