Biography

Heidi Becker burst into the scene when she was 16-years-old. She won the East German springboard title and the 1970 European Championships. Two years later, at the 1972 München Olympics, she finished eighth in the final. In 1974 she claimed her second East German title, and in 1975 and 1976 she won national titles on platform. In 1976 she participated in the Montréal Games as Heidi Ramlow, and placed fourth on springboard, and eighth on platform. Becker-Ramlow committed suicide on 13 February 1987.
