Biography

Beate Jasch participated in three individual swimming events at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. She was eliminated in the heats of all her starts, 100 metres freestyle, and both the 100 and 200 metres butterfly. With the West German 4x100 freestyle relay squad she reached the final but they were placed eighth and last. At the 1974 Vienna European Championships, Jasch won a silver medal with the 4x100 medley relay squad. In total, she won four West German national titles, including three golds in 1976, over both butterfly distances and in the 200 individual medley. The following year she added another title, the 200 metres butterfly.

Jasch married Armin Reutershahn, an assistant football (soccer) manager who worked with several Bundesliga clubs including Eintracht Frankfurt, Hamburger SV, 1. FC Nürnberg, TSG Hoffenheim and VfB Stuttgart.
