Biography

Cristina Teuscher swam freestyle and individual medley, winning a gold medal in the 4x200 free relay at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, and a bronze medal in the 200 IM at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Teuscher competed at the World Championships in 1994, 1998, and 2001, winning four medals, three in the 4x200 free relay, with a gold in 2001, and a silver medal individually in the 400 freestyle in 1994. At the Pan Pacific Championships Teuscher won five medals in 1995 and 1999, winning golds both years in the 4x200 free relay, silvers in both IMs in 1999, and a silver in the 200 freestyle in 1995. She also competed at the 1995 Pan American Games, winning three gold medals, two in the freestyle relays and the 200 freestyle, adding a silver medal in the 400 free.

Teuscher attended Columbia University, graduating in 2000. She won 12 Ivy League titles and in 1997-98 was given the Honda Sports Award as the outstanding collegiate female swimmer. Teuscher later earned an MBA from INSEAD in 2007. She was the Yale Women’s Swim Coach from 2010-12, and has served on the board of directors of the Collegiate Women’s Sports Awards.
