Biography

Peter Kemp “Kim” Fripp was a Canadian ski jumper. Fripp’s father was an Alpine skier, but unlike his father he turned his attention to jumping rather than the ski slope. As a member of the Canadian national ski jumping team Fripp was selected to compete at the 1976 Innsbruck Olympics. However, his results on the normal hill and the large hill were disappointing, finishing last-but-one in each event.

Following his competitive career Fripp ran the family insurance brokerage business for more than 30 years. He was never too far away from the sport, going on to become a local coach and a FIS judge. As a judge Fripp travelled the world and was one of the judges at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.
