Biography

With future Olympic teammate Georgina Wheatcroft , then known as Georgina Hawkes, Cheryl Noble had her first major curling victory at the 1993 British Columbia Mixed Provincial Championships. Her greatest successes, however, came as an alternate with the Kelley Law rink (team). In 2000 they took the British Columbia Provincial, Canadian National, and World Championships, although Noble did not play in any matches at the latter event. Their next stop was the 2001 Olympic trials, which they won, earning themselves the right to represent Canada at the 2006 Winter Olympics. The foursome, which included Wheatcroft as second, Diane Nelson as lead, and Julie Skinner as third, took home the bronze medal. Noble took a hiatus from curling after the Olympics, but returned in 2007 as a senior-level player. Under skip (captain) and former world champion Pat Sanders she won the 2008 Canadian Senior Curling Championship and the 2009 World Senior Championship. She was made a member of the British Columbia Sports Hall of Fame in 2002.
