Biography

Trygve Smith was an engineer who was a multiple Norwegian national tennis champion. He played singles and doubles outdoors at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics. He won the Norwegian singles titled in 1912-15 and 1918, adding the doubles title in 1913-14 and 1916, and winning the mixed in 1912 and 1924. Smith’s son, Finn-Trygve Smith, later played Davis Cup for Norway from 1932-34, appearing in four ties.
