Biography
Stein Jorgensen was a sprint canoeist who competed at the 1996 and 2000 Olympic Games, placing sixth in the K-4 in 2000. Jorgensen also won a gold medal in the K-2 200 metre event at the 1995 World Sprint Championships, alongside John Mooney.
Jorgensen graduated from San Diego State University. He later worked as a fireman with the Chula Vista (California) Fire Department from 2006. In 2010 he was named the Sprint Kayak Coach for USA Canoeing and was a team coach at the 2012 Olympic Games.
