Kārlis Kepke’s parents lived as workers on the grounds of Stalbe manor. In 1912, he competed in the road time trial at the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm. He did not finish the race and withdrew in Södertälje, after less than 40 km. His older brother Augusts also took part but gave up near Kungsör, having covered almost half the total distance. The Russian team was not counted for the team event, as only one member finished the race.
In 1913, Kārlis Kepke participated in the 1st All-Russian Sports Games, where he won the 5 verst (5.3 km) track race and finished second in the 20 km on the track. He worked as a mechanic. Nothing is known about Kepke’s further fate.
