Biography

Heinz Putzl was an Austrian sabre fencer who participated in the 1948 London and 1952 Helsinki Olympics. He reached the second of four rounds with both the team and in the individual event in 1948. At Helsinki he narrowly missed the final four with the team, and did not start the individual event. Putzl later moved to Bonn in Germany and won the German national title with the sabre team of OFC Bonn from 1956-59.
