Biography

Fencer Karl Sudrich was a member the Austrian sabre team that finished fifth at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. Individually, he was eliminated in the second round, just as he was in the individual foil event. Sudrich was also a member of the foil team finishing an unfortunate fourth.

In 1944, Sudrich died in a war hospital in Hungary from injuries sustained in World War II as Oberst of the German Wehrmacht and commander of the II. Battalion / Kavallerie-Schützen-Regiment 10.
