Biography

Nataliya Butuzova from Uzbekistan was one of the best female archers of the world at the start of the 1980s. She won silver at the 1980 Olympics, behind teammate Ketevan Losaberidze, and was World individual and team champion in 1981. She also won European individual titles in 1980 and 1982 and was European team champion in 1980, 1982 and 1988. Butuzova was also European indoor individual and team champion in 1981 and won five Soviet individual titles in a row from 1979 to 1983. Butuzova also competed at the 1988 Olympics, where she was 18th in individual competition and fourth with the Soviet team. After her sporting career, she worked as an archery coach in her native Uzbekistan and later was the coach of German national archery team.
