Biography

Ed Ballinger attended New York University, graduating in 1976. Ballinger was US Champion in foil in 1973 and 1975, winning team foil titles in 1972 and 1973. He placed third three times at the Martini & Rossi International. At the 1975 Pan American Games Ballinger won a gold medal in team épée and a silver medal in team foil. He later coached fencing, at Baruch College from 1980-84, and later at the Boston Fencing Club. Ballinger married Sally Pechinsky, who competed in fencing at the 1968 Olympics.
