Biography

Silvio Giolito won the Amateur Fencers League of America (AFLA) foil championship in 1950-51, going undefeated both years. He represented the New York Athletic Club and helped them win AFLA team foil titles in 1941-42, 1947, and 1960-61. He attended Stuyvesant High School (’37) and college at New York University (NYU). He was inducted into the NYU Hall of Fame in 1990. Giolito later became the father-in-law of Lindsay Frost, an American actress, and the grandfather of her son, Lucas Giolito, a Major League Baseball pitcher.
