Biography

Nello Paratore was born in Egypt and started as a coach of the Egyptian national team, leading them to the 1949 European title and the 1951 Mediterranean Games gold medal. Paratore then coached the Italian national team from 1957-68, including at the 1960, 1964, and 1968 Olympics. He also led the Azzurro at the 1963 and 1967 World Championships, and the 1959, 1963, 1965, and 1967 European Championships. In Serie A Paratore coached Virtus Bologna, Snaidero Udine, Banco di Roma, and Pinti Inox Lazio.
