Biography

Desanka Pešut was a rifle shooter who competed for Yugoslavia at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. Her greatest tournament, however, came at the 1970 World Championships when she won three rifle titles and five medals in all, adding two silvers. She was a three-time European gold medalist, winning team events in 1964, 1969, and 1974. At the Yugoslav national championships, Perović-Pešut won 35 medals, with 9 gold medals.

A member of the Novi Sad Shooting Club throughout her career, Perović-Pešut remained in shooting as a coach and judge and served as a selector for the Yugoslav national team.
