Biography

Ladislav Jiránek-Strana was a track and field athlete from Bohemia. At the 1912 Kaufmann Cup Jiránek-Strana represented Slavia Praha where he won the 60, 220, and 440 yard sprints on the track. He also won the high jump and finished in second place in the shot put. At the 1912 Stockholm Olympics Jiránek-Strana ran in the 100 metres but did not finish in his heat. He was also scheduled to compete in the 4 × 100 metres relay, the standing high jump, and the standing long jump, but did not start in any of them. After his career Jiránek-Strana later became a chairman in athletics.
