Biography

Fritz Felix Piepes played Olympic singles in 1908 and 1912, and competed in doubles with Arthur Zborzil both years. Piepes was runner-up in the Austrian International Championship in 1909 and 1913. He played at the World Hard Court Championships in 1912-13, losing in round one in 1912 and round two in 1913.

Piepes was a lawyer in Praha, who fled Czechoslovakia in 1939, just nine days before Hitler overran the country. He and his wife settled in New York briefly, but he eventually lived in Seattle, Washington for the rest of his life. He played tennis into his 90s at the Seattle Tennis Club.
