Ukrainian Walentina Fedjuschina represented the Soviet Union at the 1988 Seoul Olympics in shot put but failed to qualify for the final. In 1996, she then represented her birth country and finished 12th. At the European Indoor Championships that same year Fedjuschina collected her only international medal, a bronze. She was briefly married to Ukraine discus thrower Vladimir Zinchenko.
Walentina Fedjuschina moved to Austria in 1999 and was soon naturalised. She then became Austrian shot put champion five times (1999-2004). She represented Austria at the 2000 Sydney Olympics and again finished 12th.
