Biography

Inger Helene Nybråten was a member of the Norwegian cross-country relay at several international championships, winning gold at the 1982 World Championships and the 1984 Winter Olympics. In addition she earned two Olympic relay silver medals and one silver and three bronze relay medals from the World Championships. Her only individual medal came in her last championship start, placing third in the 15 km at Thunder Bay in 1995. She also won six World Cup events, and six national titles from 1988-95.

Nybråten settled in Fagernes, where she owned and ran a sport shop named Inger Helene G-Sport. She also worked as a cross-country ski instructor both for kids and adults, and participated in programs about skiing for Norwegian TV.
