Biography

Olga Kuzenkova was a hammer thrower who won gold at the 2004 Athina Olympics after taking silver at the 2000 Sydney Olympics. Kuzenkova was a three-time World Champion, winning consecutively in 1999, 2001, and 2003. She also won the 2002 European Championships after a silver medal in 1998. Kuzenkova was a six-time world record setter, her first of 66.84 in February 1994 in Adler, Russia, and her final two coming on 22 June 1997 in München, with her best mark that day 73.10. She also had several marks beyond the world record that were not ratified. Her personal best of 75.68 was achieved on 4 June 2000 in Tula, Russia. Kuzenkova would later serve a two-year ban, from March 2013 to March 2015, for doping with anabolic steroids.
