Biography

Italian bobsledder Dario Poggi competed in the sport from the 1930s to the 1950s, representing his nation at three Olympic Games. Poggi teamed up with Edgardo Vaghi for the two-man event at the 1936 Garmisch-Partenkirchen Olympics, with the pair finishing 11th. After World War II he competed in the same event at the 1948 St. Moritz Games, this time with Mario Vitali, with the Italians finishing in sixth. Poggi competed at his third and final Olympics at the 1952 Oslo Games as part of the four-man crew in the first Italian sled, which finished tenth.
