Biography

Max Robert was a sprinter who was recruited to bobsledding for his speed. In 1995 Robert won a French title in the 4x100 relay. On the ice, Robert won a bronze medal at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics in the four-man, along with Bruno Mingeon, Emmanuel Hostache and Éric Le Chanony. The highlight of his bob career was at the 1999 World Championships, when Robert rode on the same four-man sled that won a gold medal at Cortina d’Ampezzo. The team also won the 2000 European title. Robert was initially a Paris firefighter for a career, but later joined the Bataillon de Joinville, and after earning several state awards, became an instructor with the Bataillon d’Antibes.
