Biography

René Cattarinussi was an Italian biathlete who was a member of the Fiamme Gialle Military Club and was a member of the national team from 1982. He enjoyed two World Cup wins, at Anterselva and Chanty-Mansijsk, in the 1998-99 and 1999-2000 seasons respectively.

Cattarinussi won six World Championship medals. In 1996 at Ruhpolding he won a bronze medal in both the sprint and relay. In 1997 he won silver in the 10 km sprint and bronze in the relay. At Holmenkollen in 2000 he won the sprint bronze medal and the following year at Pokljuka, he added the sprint silver. Nationally he won 15 medals, eight gold, four silver and three bronze.
