Description

The Palau National Olympic Committee was formed in 1998 and granted provisional recognition by the IOC Executive Board on 12 December 1998. Full recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) followed in June 1999 at the IOC session in Seoul. Palau made its Olympic début in 2000 at Sydney, represented by five athletes. The island nation also attended the 2004, 2008, 2012, and 2016 Olympic Games, their best result was a 13th place in men’s feathweight weightlifting, achieved by Stevick Patris in 2012.
