Description

The Palau National Olympic Committee was formed in 1998 and granted provisional recognition by the IOC Executive Board on 12 December 1998. Full recognition by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) followed in June 1999, at the IOC session in Seoul. Palau made its Olympic début at Sydney 2000, represented by five athletes. The island nation has never missed an edition of the Summer Games since, but it has never competed at the Winter Olympics.

Palau has never won an Olympic medal. Their best result was a 13th place in men’s featherweight weightlifting, achieved by Stevick Patris in 2012.
