Painting at the 1928 Summer Olympics

Dates 17 May – 12 August 1928
Medal Events 4
Venues Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam

There were three painting events in the 1928 Arts Competition – Drawings and Water Colors, Graphic Arts, and Paintings. The Official Report lists 450 paintings, drawings, and graphic works, but those details do not match with the Art Exhibition catalog. There were 200 artists from 23 countries in the paintings discipline. A full set of medals was awarded in all three events. Jean Jacoby (LUX) won gold in the drawings and water colors, after winning gold in the only painting event in 1924, making him the only Olympic artist to win two gold medals.
