There was only one round of competition in the jumping. The winner, Tommaso Lequio di Assaba, was the President of the Italian Riding Federation. The bronze medallist, Carl Gustaf Lewenhaupt, was the only rider to have competed in this event at both the 1912 and 1920 Olympic Games. Many of the competitors in this event also competed in jumping at the 1919 Inter-Allied Games, including several of the Italians. Lequio di Assaba was not at the Inter-Allied Games in jumping, which was won by his countryman Roger Ubertalli, who finished 17th in Antwerp.
