The individual dressage was won comfortably by Germany’s Carl-Friedrich, Baron von Langen-Parow riding Draufgänger. He was competing in his only Olympics and would win a second gold medal in the team dressage. He also competed in jumping at Amsterdam but did not make the podium in that discipline.
The silver medal went to France’s Charles Marion, who rode Linon. In 1932, Marion and Linon would return to the Olympics and again win silver in individual dressage. Two Swedes contested third place, with Ragnar Olson beating out Janne Lundblad for the bronze. In the 1928 Official Report (English version), the dressage was termed the “Training Competition”.
