Biography

Two-time Olympian, swimmer Hermann Lotter competed in the 1960 Games in Rome (4x100 m medley relay) and the 1964 Games in Tokyo (200 m butterfly) and was eliminated in the preliminaries in both occasions. He won 12 West German national titles between 1959 and 1967.

Lotter later became a longtime personal member of the West German National Olympic Committee and was president of his home club SC Wasserfreunde München from 1974-84. At the age of 73 he died from a brain bleed after a fall in 2013.
