Biography

Camille Wright, who attended the University of Hawai’i, won gold medals in the 100 and 200 metre butterfly and the medley relay at the 1975 Pan American Games, and swam in all three events at the Olympics in the following year. At the Montréal Games she placed fourth in the 100 butterfly, was eliminated in the heats of the 200 fly but she did win an Olympic silver in the medley relay. Wright also competed at the 1975 World Championships, winning a silver medal in the medley relay and a bronze in the 100 butterfly. She was AAU Champion in the 100 fly in 1975, placing second that year in the 200 fly, and third in the 200 fly in 1976. Wright attended the University of Hawai’i, graduating in 1978, and later did some masters swimming out of San Diego.
