Biography

Wanda Fukała-Kaczmarczyk took up fencing as a teenager and soon came to specialize in the foil. She represented Poland in the team event at two editions of the Olympics, 1960 and 1968, being eliminated in the quarter-finals and placing seventh respectively. She was also eliminated in round one of the individual foil in 1960 and was a reserve in that event in 1968. She never won a domestic title, but was the individual bronze medalist six times (1959, 1960, 1962, 1963, 1965, and 1966). In the team event, meanwhile, she won 12 consecutive titles between 1957 and 1968. By career, she was an economist.
