Wan Hei “Matthew” Chan fenced all three individual weapons at the 1972 Olympics, and fenced foil and épée, both individual and team, at the 1976 Olympics. Chan also competed at the 1974 and 1978 Asian Games. He was later a founder and head coach of the Metroblades Fencing Club. Chan also worked as a fencing referee.
