Biography

Bino Bini appeared at two Olympics. In 1924 at Paris, he competed in the preliminary heats of the sabre team event. Bini did not compete in the final pool, in which Italy took the gold after a close victory over Hungary. He had also entered the individual final but withdrew with the other Italians after Oreste Puliti was disqualified for insulting the Hungarian judge Kovacs after he made a ruling that cost Italy a victory. Bino Bini also won a bronze medal in the individual sabre competition at the 1926 European Championships. In honor of his sporting achievements, he was awarded a Gold Medal by the Italian Olympic Committee.
