Biography

Peter Loetscher was a member of Fechtklub Basel and was coached by Roger Nigon. Loetscher was on the Swiss national épée team from 1966-75 and won a 1972 Olympic team silver and a 1970 World Championships team bronze. Loetscher also won the 1974 Heidenheim Pokol, considered the Wimbledon of fencing as the strongest épée tournament in that era, and he was the 1965 and 971 Swiss individual épée champion, 1975 Swiss team épée champion, and 1963 Spanish individual épée champion.
