Biography

David Zhuang played table tennis at the 1996, 2000, and 2008 Olympics, playing singles all three years and doubles in 2000. Zhuang was Chinese-born as Zhuang Yongxiang, but moved to the United States in 1990. Internationally he won gold medals at the 1999 Pan American Games in singles and team. He was US Champion 21 times, winning the singles in 1994-95, 1998, 2000, 2006, and 2008; the doubles in 1992-94, 1999-2001, 2003, 2006, and 2008; and the mixed doubles in 1992-95, and 1998-99. He and his wife, Joannie Fu, settled in New Jersey. Zhuang was inducted into the USA Table Tennis Hall of Fame in 2003.
