In 1968 Canadian gymnast Sid Jensen represented his nation at the Mexico City Olympics, finishing 16th in the team event. Three years later Jensen won bronze in the team event at the Pan American Games. In the same year as the Olympics, he met his future wife at the University of Michigan. He also represented the university’s gymnastic team, winning bronze on the parallel bars at the 1968 NCAA Championships, before winning gold in the team event at the 1970 Championships. In 1973 the couple moved from Thunder Bay, Ontario to Fort Myers, Florida, where they lived for the rest of their lives. Jensen later worked as a pilot for Bar Harbor Eastern Express, taught language arts in public schools, and ran his own oak furniture manufacturing company.
