Born in Moskva in 1934, Ezrael Illkhanouf represented his native Iran in boxing tournaments during the late 1950s and early 1960s. In 1958 Illkhanouf won bronze in the -51 kg event at the Asian Games in Tokyo. Two years later he competed in the flyweight class at the Roma Olympics, where he defeated James Badrian (RHO) before losing to Miguel Ángel Botta (ARG) via a walkover. Illkhanouf later moved to the United States, living in Windsor, Pennsylvania.
