Biography

Joseph Whiteside had the following podium finishes at major championships: 2nd in the 1930 British Empire Games 4×200 yards Freestyle Relay (with Freddie Milton, Norman Brooks, and Arthur Watts). In the 1930 British Empire Games Whiteside also finished fourth in the 400 yards freestyle. In the British Empire Games he represented England.
