Biography

Félix Escobar was an Argentine track and field athlete who won several medals in sprinting in South America. At the 1922 South American Championships in Athletics in Rio de Janeiro Escobar won bronze in the 400 metres. Two years later when the South American Championships were held in Buenos Aires he won gold in the 200 metres, 400 metres, and the 4 × 400 metres relay. These results earned him selection for the 1924 Paris Olympics where he ran in the 100, 200, and 400 metres, but he only advanced further than the opening heats in the 200 metres. Escobar was also part of the quartet that ran in the 4 × 100 metres relay in Paris, but the team did not advance to the semi-finals. He won his last medal at the South American Championships in 1927 with a gold in the 4 × 400 metres relay.
